2. Service Agreement
Booking and Confirmation: When you book a move with Lake Butler Movers, you will receive a service agreement, including the agreed-upon services and pricing. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking.
Pricing and Payment: All prices are quoted based on the specific details of the move, including location, size, and services requested. Any changes to the initial agreement may result in revised pricing. Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed. We accept various forms of payment, including credit cards, bank transfers, and cash.
Changes and Cancellations: You may modify or cancel your booking with at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled move may result in a cancellation fee. Any changes to the moving date or time must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance.
3. Client Responsibilities
Availability and Access: You are responsible for ensuring that the property and moving areas are accessible. If there are any restrictions or conditions (e.g., limited access, elevators, parking limitations), you must notify us in advance.
Inventory: The client is responsible for providing an accurate inventory of items to be moved. Any undisclosed items discovered on the moving day may result in additional charges.
Packing: While we offer packing services, you are responsible for ensuring that items not packed by Lake Butler Movers are properly packed and labeled for safe transport.
Valuables: You should not pack valuables such as cash, jewelry, important documents, or irreplaceable items. Lake Butler Movers is not responsible for any loss or damage to these items.
4. Moving and Storage Terms
Damage and Liability: While Lake Butler Movers takes every precaution to protect your belongings, we are not liable for damages caused by circumstances beyond our control, including weather events, natural disasters, or items that are inadequately packed by the customer.
Insurance: We offer insurance options for your move. It is the customer’s responsibility to choose the level of insurance needed. Insurance details and coverage will be outlined in the service agreement.
Storage: If you use our storage services, we guarantee secure storage in our facilities. However, we are not responsible for loss or damage to items left in storage, including damage from fire, flooding, or theft, except as specified under our insurance policies.
5. Prohibited Items
Certain items are prohibited from being transported or stored by Lake Butler Movers. These include, but are not limited to:
- Hazardous materials (flammable, corrosive, toxic substances)
- Explosives
- Live animals
- Perishable food items
- Illegal substances
- Firearms or weapons
If any prohibited items are found, we may refuse to transport or store them and will not be liable for any consequences.
6. Customer Liability
Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate and truthful information regarding the move and any special requirements. Failure to provide accurate information may result in additional charges or delays.
Damages to Property: You are responsible for ensuring that your property, including both the origin and destination locations, is in good condition for the move. If we cause any damage to the property during loading or unloading, we are liable for repair costs. However, we are not responsible for pre-existing damages.
7. Limitations of Liability
Lake Butler Movers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, damages for lost profits, loss of business, personal injury, or property damage. Our liability is limited to the value of the goods moved and stored, as defined by the insurance coverage chosen by the customer.
8. Force Majeure
Lake Butler Movers is not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these terms due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, labor strikes, or other emergencies.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. All personal information provided by clients is used solely for the purpose of providing services and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
- Data Security: We take reasonable measures to protect personal and payment data. However, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lake Butler Movers and its employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your actions or the actions of others during the moving or storage process. This includes but is not limited to damages to property, injury, or loss of goods.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing legal action. If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute will be governed by the laws of Florida, and any legal action will be taken in the jurisdiction where Lake Butler Movers is located.
12. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
Lake Butler Movers reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and it is your responsibility to review the terms periodically. Continued use of our services after changes to the terms indicates your acceptance of those changes.
